Berkeley Disaster Preparedness Neighborhood Network
We do this through coalition building, bringing in outside expertise, and sharing experiences — all volunteer, neighbor to neighbor.
Two of the most important things you can do before disaster strikes: know your evacuation zone, and sign up to be notified the moment officials call for action.
When disaster is imminent, officials call for evacuations by zone — not by city or neighborhood. Look up your zone now, before an emergency, so you already know it when it matters. Write it down and bookmark the page so you can check its evacuation status at any time.
Find Your Zone →AC Alert is Alameda County's official emergency notification system — it's free, and it's an opt-in service, so you won't receive anything unless you sign up. Register your address to be notified by text, phone, or email of evacuations and emergencies in your area.
